About Our work
OUR APPROACH
What makes our programs so powerful?
We have crafted our programs based on mindfulness and many other therapeutic techniques including compassionate inquiry.
During our sessions, you are guided by mindfulness-certified facilitators who are also trained and certified in many other therapeutic techniques that allow for a deeper connection to yourself and the world around you.
Mindfulness-Based Interventions are a therapeutic approach grounded in mindfulness, they are designed to deliberately focus a person’s attention on the present experience in a way that is non-judgmental.
Mindfulness-based interventions, whether offered individually or in a group setting, may serve as a complement to therapy but please keep in mind that they do not take the place of therapy or medical intervention.
The Hakomi Method of Experiential Psychotherapy, a body-centered approach developed by Ron Kurtz, combines somatic awareness with experiential techniques to promote psychological growth and transformation.
Hakomi theory holds the body to be a window to unconscious psychological material, and trained practitioners work to help those in therapy identify somatic indicators of unconscious beliefs and then bring these indicators into awareness, thus aiding the process of change.
Compassionate Inquiry, developed by Dr. Gabor Mate. It’s a psycho-somatic approach based on deep compassion, it unveils the level of consciousness, hidden assumptions, implicit memories, and body states that form the real message that words both express and conceal, while gently uncovering and releasing mental blocks, constriction, and suppressed emotion embedded in the body - which are at the root of suffering and in many cases manifest as physical and mental illness and addiction.
OUR INTEGRATION PROCESS
PSYCHEDELICS RESEARCH
In a study, conducted in 2018, Doctor Olson, assistant professor of chemistry, biochemistry, and molecular medicine at the University of California, Davis shares and his team found that psychedelic drugs increase the number of branches and dendritic spines on neurons, and also increase the number of synapses, or connections between neurons.
"Psychedelics are able to actually [change] neuronal structure, [and] that's really important because [brain] structure controls function. That means it's possible that these drugs could help repair brain networks in the prefrontal cortex that might be damaged in conditions like anxiety and depression”, he said. Source
At Liberate Lounge, we have designed this program taking into account the growing body of research on psychedelics and its long-lasting benefits when experienced safely and in a therapeutic environment.
MPI (Mindfulness and Psychedelic Integration), is a mindfulness-based approach that incorporates principles of Psychology, mindfulness-based modalities, and compassionate Inquiry, to name a few. This process allows for the right framework for examining and working with psychedelic experiences safely.
According to MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies), The attentional and attitudinal shift that takes place during the practice of mindfulness is believed to result in a profound change in how people relate to the causes of their distress, thereby resulting in alleviation of processing your experience, this allows for clarity and deep learning about yourself and the world around you.
During these eight weeks, you are invited to practice being present in a non-judgmental way. In designing this program we have taken into account the various research and studies to make your experience safe and beneficial.
You will be supported through Mindfulness, Compassionate Inquiry, and other therapeutic methods that are specifically designed to ensure your psychedelic experience is beneficial and safe.
We wish you the best!
